Antique Trade Bead & Tahitian Pearl bracelet

Made in Venice, Bohemia and other European countries by master glass craftsmen, trade beads were used in Africa and the Americas from the late 1400s through the early 1900s. Some of these beads have traveled at least three continents, and have graced numerous owners. Small chips, corrosion, and pitting are a normal part of their patina attesting to their journey, age & broad use. The majority of these beads come from a small family business with close ties to Africa.  A portion of their sales is donated to Harvest of Hope and the Clinton Global Initiative.
